Integrative Healing Institute, Inc. is a nonprofit research organization dedicated to advancing evidence-informed acupuncture and integrative health practices through applied clinical research, real-world data collection, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

 

Our Team 


President & Research Director

Liu, Yanzhu Ph.D​

​

Dr. Yanzhu Liu is a highly respected expert in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with over 35 years of clinical experience. He is a professor and PhD supervisor at Shandong University of TCM and formerly an associate research scientist at Columbia University. Holding an MD/PhD from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, China’s top medical institution, Dr. Liu has made significant contributions to both clinical practice and biomedical research.

With over 13 years of research in atherosclerosis, he completed postdoctoral training at Tsinghua University and conducted studies at Columbia University on hyperlipidemia and arterial disease. Dr. Liu holds multiple patents, including one for an atherosclerosis treatment and four for AI-driven medical devices. His innovative AI acupoint detection technology has significantly improved treatments for chronic pain, arthritis, sports injuries, stroke-related conditions, cancer-related symptoms, and eye disorders.

As the chief editor of Internal Medicine – Chinese Medicine and a contributor to five medical books, Dr. Liu continues to pioneer integrative medicine. His unique abdominal acupuncture technique has proven highly effective for stubborn conditions, providing patients with a groundbreaking approach to healing.

Rong Lu, PhD Candidate

Project lead for Abdominal Acupuncture – Shoulder Periarthritis

​

Rong Lu earned her master’s degree from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine through a prestigious seven-year bachelor-master program in the combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Clinical Medicine. She is a medical doctor in China.

Her expertise lies in infertility treatments, including support for IUI and IVF, as well as addressing PMS, menopause syndrome, PCOS, abnormal uterine bleeding, hormone imbalances, and painful periods. Rong also has extensive experience in treating neck and back pain, headaches and migraines, allergies, sinus issues, and gastrointestinal disorders. She is dedicated to providing holistic care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

Aifeng Song, PhD Candidate

 Project lead for (Abdominal Acupuncture – Depression)

Aifeng Song is a NY and PA licensed acupuncturist who has earned an NCCAOM Acupuncture Diploma, NCCAOM Oriental Medicine Diploma. She graduated from New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and received her Oriental Medicine Ph. D from the American Academy of Health and Wellness and currently working on her second Ph. D at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Song’s research and clinical trials focus on internal medicine and acupuncture. She specializes in insomnia, arthritis, headache/migraine, neck/shoulder/lower back pain, infertility, menstrual disorders, digestive disease, and allergy.
